Short Film Consulting FAQ

These sessions are designed to offer clarity, structure, and thoughtful support around film work. Below are answers to some common questions about how the sessions work and what to expect.

  • One-on-one sessions focused on helping filmmakers think clearly about their work. We talk through ideas, decisions, blocks, and next steps in a practical, grounded way.

Before diving into script notes or revisions, we begin with an initial session. That first conversation is about clarifying the story’s intention, and planning realistic next steps.

Short films don’t have room for confusion.
Every scene, every beat, every choice carries weight.

My role is to help you see your film clearly and strengthen it without flattening what makes it yours.

  • I work with writers, directors, actors, filmmakers, and creatives.

    Examples include:

    • Someone developing their first short film

    • A writer deciding which project to focus on next

    • A filmmaker stuck in development and not sure why a project isn’t moving forward

    • An actor wanting to start writing and/or directing their own material

    • A creative navigating career decisions as new options arise and they want a neutral space away from agents and managers to think through what they actually want

    • Someone feeling blocked, scattered or unclear why an idea or project isn’t coming together

    • Someone developing a deeply personal project and wanting to think wisely about boundaries, exposure and relational impact

  • We talk. I listen closely, ask direct questions, and help bring structure to what you’re navigating. Sessions are conversational and focused on clarity, decision-making and forward momentum. You will leave the session with a game plan; after each session I will email you a document going over what we discussed, including next steps and any resources that may be useful.

  • Bring:

    • A project, script, idea, or situation you want to work through

    • Any materials you want to reference (notes, outlines, links)

    • A willingness to be honest about what’s working and what isn’t

You do not need a polished plan or finished work. :)

  • I can!

Script feedback is available after an initial session so I have context for what your desires are. This option is currently only available for short film scripts and early stage development.

    • You send the script in advance

    • I read it ahead of time

    • We use the session to discuss notes, questions, and next steps

Script feedback is booked as a separate session.

  • It’s not. Personal material can arise alongside creative work, but our time together is ultimately focused on creative clarity, projects and decision-making rather than clinical therapy or life coaching. With that said, I’m completely here for any tender emotions that may arise during a session, and the space is held with care, neutrality, and respect for honest realization.

  • It varies. Some people book one session for clarity about a specific issue. Others return periodically if new obstacles arise, or they’re ready for new steps.

There’s no package or long term commitment. You can come see me as little or as often as you want.

  • Yes, absolutely. Sessions are private.

  • Discussions regarding strategies for funding can definitely be discussed.

When appropriate and aligned I may share resources or make introductions, but this depends on the project, timing, and fit.

  • Sessions can be booked by clicking on the “Book a Session” button on the top right hand side of the website.
